This week the second graders segmented and blended words with the /oo/ sound as in moon. My third graders studied about words with the VCCCV Syllable pattern. Third grade is also working on their story book. Fourth graders have been preparing all year for the LEAP and they are ready for next week. All Bernice K-8 students enjoyed the LEAP Rally today. I would like to personally thank everyone that helped make our 2010 LEAP Rally a success. The students enjoyed all of the activities and refreshments.
GOOD LUCK NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What was your favorite part of the LEAP Rally and why?

We had a wonderful week! Students in my intervention groups enjoyed a pizza party on Wednesday for all of their hard work. I shared the final storybook with all of my students. They were so excited, especially the fourth graders. They were so proud of their work. My third grade students want to create a storybook of their own. So, we began the project on Thursday.
We only have four more school days left before testing! Students and teachers are working very hard to get ready. The students are looking forward to the LEAP Rally on Friday, April 09, 2010.

This has been a very busy week. Fourth grade students took the first phase of the LEAP test on Tuesday. Fourth grade has also been helping me with the storybook project. My second grade students have been segmenting and blending words with the consonant + le. Third graders have been working with prefixes -over, -under, and - out. They have also been working with the vowel sound in ball: augh, ough.
